The Futureheads
In just over eleven years, Barry Hyde (lead vocals, guitar), his brother Dave (drums, vocals), Ross Millard (guitar, vocals) and Jaff (bass, vocals) have established themselves as one of Britain’s most thrilling and durable guitar bands with the explosive, barbed ‘The Futureheads’ (2004); the elegantly miserable ‘News And Tributes’ (2006); the re-energised, celebratory ‘This Is Not The World’ (2008) and the expansive ‘The Chaos’ (2010) which was released on their own Nul Label.
Having revived the spirit of indie last year by throwing the rulebook out the window altogether with a cappella album ‘Rant’, The Futureheads will soon return with a full studio album and what will be a very special headline set at Chase Park Festival.

Symphonic Pictures
With tight, fast drums and vocal melodies that send you through soundscapes of indie rock, be prepared to crave the seaside pier as their music infects you with simple child-like joy. Citing Bowie, Bacharach and Brian Wilson as influences, Symphonic Pictures are great at building textures and have a post-Todd Rundgren feel about them: loose comparisons will inevitably be drawn with MGMT and Clor. Here is a band for real music lovers: and they’ve even got catchy melodies to keep the plebs happy

Laura Smith
Laura Smith is the lead singer of Shift-Static, a five-piece band from Newcastle whose Sky Burial EP was a wonderful collection of slow-burning electronic beauty, and recent track ‘Estrella’ (recorded with Rui Da Silva) is in a similar vein. It’s an elegant, unhurried piece of music, hinging on the emotive power of Laura’s vocal which overlays the gorgeously textured electronica. Laura has also worked with Funk Ethics on Generator’s VOX course adding another stunning vocal to an impressive electronic track.

Natasha Haws
Natasha Haws has been making her mark on North East music now for just over a year. Following the release of debut EP 'Stepping Stone' and follow up single 'Stranger', the singer-songwriter has gone on to receive airplay from BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens as well as becoming a firm favourite on BBC 6Music and BBC Introducing shows across the country. Natasha's songs are laden with her trademark vulnerability and foreboding, telling the tales of moral entanglements and true love's poor-timing. Her intensity has earned her comparisons to likes of PJ Harvey, Zola Jesus and Bat For Lashes. Over the last twelve months, Natasha Haws has supported the likes of Lucy Rose, Willy Mason, The Little Comets, Karims Francis and The Futureheads.

Sam Fender
18 year old Sam Fender may have the surname of an electric guitar manufacturer (and fireplace maker) but Sam was brought up on music by his father who has played around Tyneside's drinking holes for years. Hailing from North Shields, this outrageously talented singer-songwriter has started to turn heads with his impressive, powerful vocal. With recent support slots across the country for the likes of Willy Mason and Luke Sital-Singh... this young lad is not to be missed.
