Keiro are committed to ensuring that all of our staff receive training that is appropriate to their role and will enable them to provide person centred support to our clients. Training programmes are classified into four categories: induction training, foundation training, job specific training and refresher training. There is a structured training plan for each job position which is specific to the requirements of each job position. Each training plan is designed to focus on two key elements of job training. The plan provides the list of training required and any policies that are directly applicable to the job position.
We deliver a comprehensive induction to social care and all support staff which spans a period of 13 weeks. During this theme the employee will meet regularly with their line manager to monitor progress and identify any additional support or training that is required. In addition to supporting our staff to meet the requirements of mandatory training, our staff are supported to develop their skills via a comprehensive range of training opportunities. Our support staff and carers are supported to obtain apprenticeship qualifications (formerly NVQ) and our Nursing staff are provided with a wide range of CDPD opportunities, via courses held both internally and externally.
We also provide training which is specific to the work that is undertaken by staff along with the care and condition specific training in area such as acquired brain injury, spinal injury and palliative care.
